Face the Wave
A visual representation of the waves we must face.
a group exhibition inspired by the metaphor of waves as a reflection of anxiety, fear, and emotional overwhelm. As we step into warmer weather and coastal rhythms in Newport, this exhibition will explore the powerful moment of choosing to face what we fear rather than turning away.
When we see a large wave approaching—whether in the ocean or in life—our instinct is often to run. But just like in the sea, running only increases the risk of being pulled under. The only way through is to meet it head-on, to dive in, and emerge stronger on the other side. This show seeks to capture that moment: the stillness before the wave, the surge of courage, the surrender to movement, and the clarity after the crash.
